Description
An Original 1957 HMV vinyl record of “Evis Presley No 2” on HMV CLP 1105 the record shows a lot of superficial visual marking but plays very well just a slight jump whilst playing “paralyzed” there are no deep scratches and I would regard the condition as visually “good” at best, however this belies the actual sound when playing which I have tested on my Technics turntable and would regard the sound quality apart from the expected usual vinyl “frying bacon” background noise from records of this age between tracks but hardly noticeable on the more rocking tracks as “very good”, this copy is by no means the best but considering it is an original more than 50 years old it is getting harder to find the album at all these days, this has no cover but included in this sale along with the original is a most unusual Elvis item.
This is a black label reproduction of “Elvis Presley No 2” vinyl album in mint condition complete with superb reproduction of the original album cover and other than there being no flip backs on the rear this is identical in every way to the original with HMV label marking on back and front and has been very professionally produced not a home made mock-up there are 12 tracks as on the original and these are Side One Rip It Up Love Me When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again Long Tall Sally First In Line Paralysed and Side Two So Glad You're Mine Old Shep Ready Teddy Any Place Is Paradise How's The World Treating You How Do You Think I Feel, I picked this up many years ago in a record shop sale and know very little about the source other than it states produced in the EEC, I have played the album once and it plays perfectly with no background noise at all and is in Mint condition. The matrix nos. in the vinyl runout are HMV CLP 1105A/B and HCP 871214 which suggest it was taken directly from the original, the vinyl is of a similar thickness and is mint and unmarked, I have never seen this for sale anywhere.
Finding copies of “Elvis No 2” is getting more difficult than ever and these items give the collector an opportunity to not only own a copy of the original item with superb cover but also a mint copy of the vinyl, a most unique collectors item
