Elvis Presley, "Elvis Presley" (RCA Victor EPB 1254) You are bidding on a MIGHTY RARE and of course classic official U.S. record company PICTURE SLEEVE EP for Elvis Presley, the first one ever issued! And doing my homework, so far as I can tell, this is the original issue. Check the terrific picture sleeve out! It's in VG++ condition, while the inner gatefold, telling you about "RCA Victor's new recording artist," is in Mint-minus condition. Fans will REALLY dig having this hard-to-find, COOL picture sleeve! The vinyl is a more complicated story. Side 1 is crusty on track 2 -- it's scratched, but has no skips. Side 4 is also scratched, but again there are no skips. All 8 songs play through fine, in fact, and the songs range from a strong VG to VG--. Generally speaking, the rockers sound pretty darn good -- the ballads, not so much. And Side 3 is the best, VG+. But if you are hunting down this rare EP for its "New Orthophonic" High Fidelity sound quality, better go to Plan B. Play graded. Strict grading. The RCA Victor dog labels are VG+/Mint-minus. A most hip item for fans of the king!
