Description

Rare original 2nd UK pressing of the debut album by the King Of Rock N Roll “Elvis Presley” from around 1957.

Has the XT tax code that was used in 1957/58.

Matrix numbers/mothers/stampers

Side 1: 2XAV 255-1N / 1 2 /GP

Side 2: 2XAV 256-1N / 1 2 /GL

Side 1: Vinyl visually grades VG+ with a few light hairlines and light scuffs under strong light. However it plays with lovely clear and powerful audio throughout. Only a little very light crackle heard on run ins and spaces between tracks only. All of the music is very clear. No pops, clicks, no sticks or jumps. Great sounding copy. Plays EX.

Side 2: vinyl grades VG+ visually again. It has a small repetitive noise for the first 30 seconds which is caused by what looks like a small amount of something (paint perhaps?) stuck in the grooves (see photos). It may be possible to clean this out. After this the album plays the same as side 1 with excellent clear audio except for a few light crackles in the spaces between tracks. Again no pops, sticks, clicks, jumps or sticking. Play grade is EX-

The sleeve is VG. It has a couple of small (approx 1” tears from opening edge and some of the laminate is peeling away on the front from the opening edge. Light ring wear but otherwise pretty clean and far better than most examples of this sleeve that I have seen.

The original inner is EX- to EX. It has a small tear from the centre hole but is otherwise very clean and has no other issues at all.

Overall this is a really nice playing copy and very rare, very early pressing of this iconic album.
