Extras: Comes complete with original brown sleeve.

Condition: Labels are bright - clean and easy to read.  There is a light  dirt "storage circle" on the crest of each label, both however are still impressive for such a desirable object so close to being 60 years old! Vinyl, visually both sides have light scuffs across them, primarily these are of the sort that, tip the disc one way, you'll see them, tip the other, you won't! There are three or four slightly more distinguishable ones on each side ("Blue moon of" mostly!) The disc still displays a nice amount of gloss and certainly will reflect brilliantly when held to the light as my pictures display. Both sides play constantly with a little crackle and swish in places and light background noise – the sound of a true original!* I did listen intently a while ago for any pops or ticks out of the norm and am pleased to divulge that both have no more than about ten light pops, mostly at the beginning of disc and all are only just detectable over the aforementioned Sun sound. There is again nothing outrageous which would disturb your listening pleasure! Perhaps a clean with a reputable solution would help with any debris stuck in grooves! There are no warps or waves on this platter! The disc lays nice and flat!

I have supplied two sets of pictures for your interest, one taken outside in natural light, the other on my scanner which gives a sharper picture up close, if you have any questions please ask giving me a reasonable time to reply!

Supplementary: This amazing disc has the almost mythical three pushmarks, which if  joined together would form a triangle under label! Scribed dead wax numbers are U-128-45  72 and U-129-45 72.This is a true Memphis pressing.  

*If you are not familiar with the "Sun sound" on these records, they play like a 78rpm. The mastering methods employed by Sam Phillips, Sun Records owner utilized the use of a 78rpm cutting needle as opposed to its 45rpm counterpart that perhaps should have been used! This gives the playback an overwhelming “Airy” affect! The resulting sound is a side effect of this process and not groove wear. A factory fresh copy pressed today would sound the same!

If you are looking for a crowning jewel or mint copy, good luck! This isn’t it - what it is however is a very respectable piece of history! It is an Elvis Sun original that on E-Bay will sell for far less than its $2500.00+ mint value and will give the high bidder years of satisfaction! I say “good luck” because mint copies hardly ever show up and when they do it’s seldom on E-bay! The nice thing about this disc is there can be no doubt of its legitimacy because it reflects its years of being well "loved"... Remember these records are about to hit the 60 year mark, do yourself a favour, be weary of mint copies. I'm not saying they don’t exist, I'm saying they rarely hit E-Bay. This disc plays from start to finish and does not skip. This record is like owning a piece of Rock And Roll history. I am pleased(Although it breaks my heart!) To give you your chance to own an uppermost collectible in an agreeable condition which won't break the bank!
