Description
This is an auction for an Original copy of the HARD TO FIND 1956 double EP Elvis Presley released in the USA.
The records themselves ( EPB 1254 dog on top) are ONLY in VERY GOOD condition with some visible marks/scratches.(nothing too deep though) but this is really more about the hard to find sleeve!
The centre labels are reasonably clean and have NO WRITING but do have a plaster with a name on side 4 with a small numbered sticker and some damage from where a label has been removed on the flip side (side 1) . The 2nd disc labels (side 2+3) are better (see photos)
This is also the RARE issue WITHOUT SILVER LINE!
The THICK CARDBOARD picture sleeve is much sought after and was listed in a U.S guide book back in 2008 as $200 in the condition it is in now(which i would say is in VERY GOOD+) for the sleeve alone!!!
This rare gatefold sleeve is over 59 years old and is quite good for the age (and especially at this low starting price!!)
There are NO SPLITS, RIPS,TEARS or WRITING!(see photos)
This is one of 4 variants of the sleeve released for this issue and is the one with NO adverts on the rear for other albums by other artists.
This also has the added rarity of being a mispress where the inner part of the gatefold sleeve lists correctly the track running order for sides 2+3 , yet on the rear 2+3 are incorrectly reversed!
The only things that stop this from grading higher is ringwear/creases/scuff marks and age discolouration(see photos)
That all said this is a nice affordable sleeve until that Mint $300 sleeve comes along!
The record is also stored in a separate paper sleeve to prevent anymore wear to this RARE sleeve!!
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at $225(£150 approx) .
I dont have a current price guide but i would say at least £155.
THIS REALLY IS A QUITE HARD TO FIND TO SLEEVE!!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might be able to grab yourself a bargain!!
