Item For Sale:
From my own record collection, which I am whittling down in readiness for my forthcoming move to the Warrington area, this is an ultra-rare original New Zealand pressed 78 by Elvis Presley on RCA 20-6640.
The two tracks are: Just Because / Blue Moon.
"Blue Moon" is the Rodgers and Hart song, recorded by many artists and later a hit for the Marcels in 1961. The song was also featured heavily (but not the Elvis Presley version) in the film "An American Werewolf In London."
The record looks generally in EX- condition, with just a tiny amount of surface marking and plays very well, with no sticking or jumping. The labels are clean and readable, with very little spindle wear. They have silver text on a black background, with a black spot RCA logo (no "Victor" and no dog!)
The record will be supplied in an RCA Victor card sleeve and will be shipped in a sturdy box with cardboard, bubblewrap and/or polystyrene (styrofoam) buffering, plus additional buffering material as necessary to fill the box, so you should receive it in one piece! As I only quote shipping rates INCLUDING insurance, you will be amply compensated in the event of breakage. I know how annoying this can be, as I am a collector of 78s myself.
Please note that any dirty marks which appear on the scanned image is due to a fault with the scanner and do NOT appear on the actual item.
This is a NO RESERVE auction with a good starting price, so bid early to avoid disappointment. I will not be offering a "Buy It Now" price and will hopefully recover at least the amount I paid for this record many years ago.
