Description
This is an auction for an ORIGINAL copy of the 1956 release of Hound Dog / Don't Be Cruel released in the USA.
The record itself (47-6604 )is in VERY GOOD condition and retains some of it's natural sheen.
There are a few marks/scratches, but nothing too deep or drastic though (see photos).
The labels are quite bright and have NO WRITING!!.(see photos)
This is the RARER issue WITH THE HORIZONTAL LINE. (you could say this is this U.S equivilant of HMV Gold WRITING UK issue!)
This also has a centre adaptor fitted making it suitable for most U.K record players!
The Black and White picture sleeve was the 1st picture sleeve release from Elvis and has 2 Great Different Shots.
The colours are quite nice and sharp and both sides have NO WRITING!(see photos)
The only things that stop this from grading even higher is a seam split partially down one side,a seam split at the bottom and a rip to the top opener and one at the side!
That said this would make a nice collection filler until that MINT $125+ copy comes along!!!
I would grade the sleeve as VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+
Overall 2 years ago this was valued at around $65(£41), so i guess it must be around £43+.
I will start this at under HALF of that!!!
With a LOW START and NO RESERVE you might just get a genuine bargain.
