Description
In this auction:
· “EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER” self-titled LP by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
· This is Cotillion Records SD – 9040.
· It is Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s FIRST LP.
· It was released in 1971.
· This is a WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL PRESSING.
· As you probably know, PROMO RECORDS were only released by record companies to the radio stations and DJs for airplay or to music stores/departments for in-store play and were not made available to the general public to purchase. They have become VERY DESIRABLE to vinyl collectors due to their limited production (scarcity) and unavailability to the public.
· The White Promo Labels have “SAMPLE COPY NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.
· This FIRST LP from Emerson, Lake & Palmer contains some GREAT NOTABLE CUTS including “Lucky Man”, “The Barbarian”, “Knife-Edge” and “Take A Pebble”.
· The COVER is in VG CONDITION. It has moderate overall wear including light partial ring wear on the front and rear covers, wear on the corners and 3 light creases near two of the corners. The seams and spine have some moderate wear, but NO seam splits.
· The cover has TWO PROMO STICKERS: A round orange “Promotional Copy NOT FOR SALE” sticker and a square yellow and black “PROMOTIONAL DJ COPY” sticker with red printing that lists 3 “SUGGESTED CUTS FOR AIR PLAY”.
· The VINYL is in NICE VG+ CONDITION with some very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”). The WHITE PROMO LABELS with “SAMPLE COPY NOT FOR SALE” printed on them are nice and clean.
· This LP comes with its original Cotillion Records inner paper sleeve.
FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+ for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY GRADE this LP, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. And please check my other auctions for other LPs you may want to add to your collection.
