Description
For auction is a very rare 3 LP box set of the J.S. Bach Unaccompanied Violin Sonatas and Partitas performed by Emil Telmanyi. Released by London Records ffrr LLA-20. Classic recordings for solo violin. Includes London Records insert, original sleeves, etc. Very unique interpretations of the Bach Sonatas and Partitas. He used a Vega Bach Bow which yields an aggressive sound to my ear.
The box cover is in great shape. Very clean overall with a small amount of shelf wear slightly visible near edges of box. But very clean with no splitting etc.
The vinyl is in excellent condition on every side with very few exceptions. All sides appear to have been played very little however there are very light marks from sliding in and out of their paper sleeves. It is difficult to see this in ordinary room light, but directly under a bulb you can see the faint hairline marks. Additionally, there is a tiny divit (vinyl imperfection?) on one side which causes a few pops. There is a scratch on the 3rd disc which can be felt with your finger nail although it does not cause any skipping. All run off grooves indicate 1A which I would guess is the first stamp (most likely this title never saw a second pressing) All in all, a very nice copy of a very rare recording.
