Description
Here we have a very special item, the very first test pressing white label of Eric Claptons 1974 album 461 ocean boulevard.
This white label has the matrix stampers ; side A 2479 118 A//1 420 0 11 1 followed by an upside down KIP
SIDE B 2479 118 B//1 4200 111
If you are reading this, you probably already know that KIP was Howard Thompson , who mastered this test pressing, the released version was mastered by BILBO and has noticeable differences to the Kip version.
The matrix stampers suggest it is the very first press, even the white label test pressing on discogs has KIP 4 instead of just Kip, and the B sides matrix ends 1 1 3, where this copy ends 1 1 1.
It is a lovely record, which was played and enjoyed by the owner, I have tried my best to photograph it as realistically as possible.
It came from a very interesting collection that had this test pressing , along with another white label of Claptons E.C was here , a Who white label test pressing, multiple Price promo 12's and a signed Patti Smith 12 inch from 1975, Im guessing the previous owner was in the industry , and relatively high to recieve such an early pressing of this album.
Please have a look at the other items I am selling at the moment, and feel free to contact me with any other questions, and i will do my best to answer them.
All the best
