This record sounds fantastic! This is a 1971 repress of the original 1964 release. It was recorded by Rudy Van Gelder ensuring warm amazing analog sound quality only these early 1970's pressings have. This pressing seems to be rare as it's on the Blue Note label but with the addition text that says "a division of United Artists Records INC". (See photos.)
I listened to this on headphones and gave it a solid VG+ play grade. There's light surface noise throughout, but it's truly very light and doesn't ruin the music in anyway. (And btw I am a record buyer as well and HATE when people claim a record is dead quiet when in fact it has some noise. So I like to let it be known when there is some surface noise.)
The sleeve is in really nice shape with a strong spine and very little wear to the front or back. Take a look at the photos to see for yourself. It has the usual wear for a early-1970's sleeve kept on a shelf and taken care of by a true music fan. Solid VG+ sleeve that most others would list as EX/M-
If you are looking to add one of THE most important jazz albums of all time to your collection, this is the way to get it at an affordable price. Truly a great record!

Out to Lunch! is a 1964 album by jazz multi-instrumentalist Eric Dolphy. His only recording for Blue Note as a leader, it was originally issued as BLP 4163 and BST 84163. Today it is generally considered one of the finest albums in the label's history, as well as one of the high points in 1960s avant-garde jazz and in Dolphy's discography.[2]
Tony Williams had turned 18 a few months before this recording, and is listed as "Anthony Williams" on the album cover.
A few months after recording the album, Dolphy completed a European tour with Charles Mingus. He died shortly thereafter of diabetic shock.
