Eric Dolphy Out to Lunch Blue Note Stereo 84163 (BLP-4163/84163)
Dolphy (as, fl b cl) with Freddie Hubbard (t); Bobby Hutcherson (vib); Richard Davis (b); Anthony Williams (d).
A landmark in Blue Note's evolution from hard bop to the avant-garde; in fact, the LP that most successfully straddles the two styles. While Eric Dolphy's career as a leader was brief, this might have been the best studio session that he was a part of, over all. A great record.
Record cover: '84163' on upper corner of front; 43 West 61st St., New York 23 on bottom of back. Liberty Blue Note logo upper left, catalog numbers upper right on back.
Liberty Era Stereo Repress with 'BNST-84163-A', 'VAN GELDER', and 'STEREO' stamped in side A runout. 'BNST-84163-B', 'VAN GELDER', and 'STEREO' in side B runout. No deep groove, no ear.
Upper right corner cut out. Cover has slight ringwear; otherwise, in very-good-to-excellent condition for its age. No bumps, creases, folds; spine has no splits, text perfect.
I'm an independent seller with his own collection. I'm not selling from a store or warehouse with multiple copies of titles or on behalf of a professional collector.
