Erland Cooper – An Orkney Triptych [DELUXE TRIPLE LP BOX-SET] (2022) | Very Good.


This is the now sold out triple LP set from Erland Cooper. I ended up with this spare because this copy was a bit too crackly, and I got another. The set contains 3 of Erland Cooper's albums, and extras. Details here:

Condition report (as per Discogs' grading system):


Media: Very Good

-- The sound quality varies. Though the records are as new, the pressing wasn't fantastic. I've graded VG cognizent of the fact that some portions are G+, some VG, and some (majority) VG+/NM. Here is a breakdown of the quality:

----- Solan Goose: has the odd right channel crackling. A1, A2, end A5 and start B1 affected. Rest is great but for the odd click.

----- Sule Skerry: There is the odd individual click that makes me think it is on the VG/VG+ boundary overall.

----- Hether Blether: Some notable, non-continuous static crackle at various times. A1, A2, A3 have most of it. It's a bit present elsewhere, but much of the rest sounds really good.


Sleeve: Very Good Plus

-- The box and all the sleeves all look in great condition. The box was opened and played once then carefully stored. I noted a very very minor scuff to the Solan Goose outer. There is a 1-2 inch split on the inner sleeve of Sule Skerry, and a bit of seam damage (not split, though) to the Hether Blether, about 1/2 inch in length. I did my best to capture all three of these in one photograph - the last of the images. As the images suggest, the box is in really fantastic condition with just a couple of small things.
