Errol Dixon (with Chicken Shack) "Blues In The Pot : The big city blues of Errol Dixon" - extremely rare original UK MONO LP in Excellent condition!

• This is an excellent copy of the very rare and collectable 1968 Mono issue of LK.4962 on the red and silver Decca label
• Matrix numbers on the inner run-off grooves are ARL-8434-1A on side one, and ARL-8435-1A on side two
• Stamper numbers on both sides inner run-offs are "1" at the left/9 o'clock position and "C" at the right/3 o'clock position
• I use the 'Record Collector' grading system when listing vinyl, and adhere strictly to this criteria. In other listings this item may well have attracted the "Mint-" description on visual grading grounds, but as this is not a formal RC grading I can honestly describe this album as falling easily and conservatively within the RC accepted description of an Excellent item. [Excellent = "The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear or creasing"]
• Visually the vinyl has retained a bright black glossy appearance and bright red and silver label colouring. Very close examination shows that the vinyl displays some very light stylus skip marks and inner sleeve scuff marks, none of which have any effect on the audio reproduction
• The disc lies flat and unwarped on the turntable
• This album has been fully audio-tested (i.e. played throughout) and is a great album that fully lives up to it's collectable status, as much for the music contained in the grooves as for it's scarcity value! There is slight surface noise evident on between-track bandings but this disappears under the excellent audio quality of the music tracks. There is no play-wear distortion on the vocals, and instrumental sounds are reproduced in full frequency, displaying a lovely rolling bass sound, bright brass stabs, and particularly shown in the 'in the room' presence of Errol Dixon's piano
• The album sleeve is a Decca laminated inner flip-back. Visual examination shows that the front of the laminated sleeve retains a glossy appearance, with evidence of a partial rim-mark, and some laminate creases, particularly towards the opening edges that remain sharp. The spine has retained its original thickness with the album title credit undamaged. The matt, predominately black rear sleeve is very clean. The inner sleeve is the original red and white 'Mono' Decca poly-lined diecut bag
• This is a rare chance to own a great copy of a very collectable British blues album of the sixties, featuring the 'big city blues' of the legendary Errol Dixon backed by the equally collectable UK blues band Chicken Shack, led by the great Brit blues guitarist Stan Webb

• Where vinyl sound quality is rated in the item description you may wish to note that the record has been checked on a Pro-Ject Debut III turntable, fitted with an Ortofon OMB5E cartridge, played through a Marantz SR4300 amplifier and Eltax Liberty 5+ speakers
