  • All relevent software needed to prpduce TTR, such as InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Magazine Page Templates and photo library
  • A fully functional review website
  • UK wide distribution
  • And 2 month's free support from us which will allow us to help you to get up and running.
History   TTR was born 3 years ago after I decided that there were no magazines available for DJs that gave no-nonsense record reviews and nothing else. The idea was to create a magazine that was more of a record shopping tool than coffee table reading. I set up the magazine on my own and when I first got up and running I provided a service which no other magazine in the world did. I set up a website which allowed the reader to listen to every track reviewed in the magazine and they could then rate it themselves online and the ratings would automatically update our online chart system. This worked brilliantly and the site began to get a serious amount of hits each month. However, running the magazine on my own and trying to record and upload every reviewed track for the website just took up too much time and so a new site was created without any audio. Following on from the stie change the magazine began to get more and more well known and the work load was just too much for one person, which is why I am selling the magazine. TTR has never made a profit but has always broken even, however, I am 100% sure that with a small team behind it, maybe even only 2 people, it could be very profitable. The good thing about the magazine is that there are no overheads other than printing and any mailouts you do to potential advertisers so this means that if one month there is not enough advertising then you are free to skip a month, something that just wouldn't be possible with a newsagent distribution deal for example.   Over 3 years we have featured guest reviewers such as Yousef, Breakfasterz, Tom Stephan, Freestylers, Marc Vedo, Krafty Kuts, Soul Of Man and Ils and  label profiles on labels such as Defected, Ganja, Pangea, Elasticman and Spin Out.   The review process   I have a group of 15 reviewers all over the UK who receive promos in exchange for writing reviews for the magazine. They are given guidelines of length and content and then each month they send in their reviews via e-mail. These are then edited by myself and laid out onto the magazine pages.   Income   The main form of income for the magazine is obviously print advertising, here are the lattest rates:   MAGAZINE ADVERTISING RATES
1/4 Page: £90.00 1/2 Page: £150 Full Page: £290 Inside Front Cover: £320 Outside Back Cover: £350 Double Page Spread: £530 Centre Spread: £600   Previous advertisers have included eJay, UDG, Hed Kandi, Sony Playstation, Defected Records, Nukleuz, Ecler, Warp Records, Breakspoll, PCDJ, EKS, Unique Distribution, Pulse Radio, Amsterdam Dance Event, Technique Records, Music Industry Manual, Nu Urban Music, Covert Records, Atomic Energy, Swag Records, Vicious Circle, Toolbox, Stay Up For Ever, Meat & Cheese Clothing,  Know How Records, Evolution Records, UK Dance Records, Sparkle Agency.   The magzine also features a section called the £10 Promo section which allows record labels to pay £10 for 1/9 of a page and basically supply a mini press relase of up to 100 words along with cover artwork and the release details. Many of the issues featured 4-5 pages of these but this could easily be increased considerably.   Distribution   Currently distribution is dealt with by Amato Distribution (www.amatodirect.com), who distribute the magazine in exchange for a full page advert. They distribute UK wide and to most independent record shops in the UK.   Promo Vinyl & CDs   I have set up a huge worldwide network of labels that send review material to both myself and to the reviewers. This is a huge perk of the job for any DJ, especially because many of the promos are at leats 2 months ahead of the release date!   In Conclusion   This is a very brief outline to TTR and it's sale so please get in touch if you are interested and don't hesitate to ask me any questions you wish. A few months back we had placed the magazine for sale with a price of £100,000 but although a huge amount of interest was generated we beleive that this was just too high. We are now looking to sell the magazine quickly and so have set a start price of only £20,000 but we really expect to get a lot more as the financial potential of the magazine is huge. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully doing some business.
