Description
This is a 1939 78 RPM record from the Bluebird division of RCA, with vocals by Ethel Waters. The record is in good condition to be 85 years old, a few light scratches and cloudiness, that may come off with a good, deep cleaning.. Label is in very good condition, with only the '12' sticker marring it, and it could probably be removed with patience and skill. Music was by Ed Mallory and his Orchestra. Georgia on My Mind was written by Stuart Gorrell and Hoagie Carmichael. Old Man Harlem was written by Rudy Vallee and Hoagie Carmichael. Ethel was a blues singer who became one of the first to sing jazz. She was also the first African American woman to have her own TV show and to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy, She was the second African American to be nominated for an Oscar.
