COLLECTED SOLOS

Cadillac Records--unnumbered, recorded various times in the Seventies. 4-LP boxed collector’s edition, comprising Parker’s first four solo recordings on Incus—Saxophone Solos, Monoceros, Six of One, and The Snake Decides, in their best pressings. One each of these records, in sleeves, but with no jackets were joined with a cassette edition of Parker’s first unaccompanied recordings. The content on that cassette was here released for the first time. Boxes were numbered 1-200, with an additional 20 copies in roman numerals designated for the artist’s use. Box interior is signed on all copies by Evan Parker; supplementary materials in the box include a Xerox explanation from Parker and a glossy folio of unique text by Paul Haines. This copy is hand-numbered as “iv/xx”. Discs are still unplayed (as is the tape); the box is near-perfect, with only faint markings on it from ordinary handling. This is one of about 800 pieces of vinyl from the LP collection of saxophonist Evan Parker, all to be auctioned over the next year by this seller and seller "soulful-i". Roughly one half of the collection comprises modern Jazz LPs (including large collections of Coltrane and Dolphy originals) brought to England by Parker on his early Sixties trips to the US; those will appear here. Parker acquired hundreds of other avant-garde and improvised music LPs from fellow musicians and contemporaries; these will be auctioned by this seller.
