Description
Evening Star Fripp & Eno Lp - 1986 UK pressing - Exc. Cond. Sent with Australia Post Standard.
One owner since new. Always kept in an outer plastic cover and played on quality equipment with a light stylus and modest tracking force. Catalogue number EGED 3.
The vinyl has some minor surface scratches and minor scuff marks and a close listen with headphones on revealed periodic minor soft defects, and two slightly more audible clicks midway through side two, quickly dispensed with. Since this is a quiet recording, defects become more noticeable. I recently considered selling another quiet Eno record, but withdrew it from sale because it did not pass my listening test. So, although this record has defects if you listen for them, they are not intrusive. I think that the record is certainly VG, not far short of VG+ on the Goldmine rating scale. The label is clean, and there is a small number of light spindle marks.
The cover is in excellent condition - VG++ I would say.
Records are sent in a double layer of rigid cardboard with the vinyl external to the cover to minimise the risk of compression damage to the cover. Whenever I can get the weight below 500gm for postage cost purposes, I include a used external plastic cover. I think this record will come just under, but won't know until packaged, so don't count on the plastic cover.
