Excel - The Joke's On You [LP]

(gatefold - Opaque Purple Vinyl)

Southern Lord    LORD222LP    808720022216    LP    Rock, Metal

"''The Jokes On You'' is the second album from Venice, CA. thrashers Excel. Originally released in 1989, this genre smashing classic has been remastered by Brad Boatright for maximum head shredding. A must for fans of the current wave of crossover: Municipal Waste, Power Trip, Toxic Holocaust as well as old-shook fiends into Suicidal Tendencies, The Accused, Corrosion of Conformity etc..

The current EXCEL lineup includes all original members Dan Clements on vocals, Shaun Ross on bass, Greg Saenz-Drums and new guitarist Alex Barreto (Chain of Strength) on guitar - they will continue this new chapter of the band. The band will be playing several high profile festival shows as well as select, special club appearances worldwide.

.''EXCEL is definitely brick material, hard and sturdy. They advance with sonic power and creep forth with an awesome fatness.'' - Pushead - Thrasher Magazine #2, 1988

-An essential and crucial reissue/rem-master from this cult crossover band from the 80s. -First time the record shall be available on vinyl since it was originally released in 1989. -Painstakingly and lovingly put together by the band and Southern Lord. The ultimate archival release! -Lp contains one previously unreleased bonus track appearing on vinyl for the first time! -Contains the song ''Tapping Into the Emotional Void'' which was the song that the band took legal action against Metallica for ripping off the main riff on ''Enter Sandman'' ] The Jokes On You came out a full two years before Metallicas' black album.
