This is an original SEALED LP by the Exkursions band from Chicago.  Great blues rock with 60's psych guitars. LP was released about 1971

Here is a review from Ken Scott's Book "The Archivist."

"High octane power rock trio absolutely blitzes through eight tunes of heavy blues-influenced material in the vein of Hendrix and Cream.  The production is top-notch and the guitars shine forth loud and mean..    "Baby You Lied," a love-gone-bad slow blues rocker sounds like one of those lengthy Derek and the Dominoes tracks and features wild stereo separation...   "Third Eye," after starting with some bizarre psycho-babble, breaks into a minute-and-a-half electric guitar jam."

To quote from "The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music" by Mark Allan Powell:

"A pioneer of the Jesus Movement, Mike Johnson made some of the world's very first Christian rock music. He became an original member of the Mike Bloomfield Blues Band, and then went on to be lead guitarist for the now legendary groups Electric Flag and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band."

The members of the band are:  Mike Johnson, Fyl Jonnzen and Leon Wilson.

PLEASE READ: Although the LP is sealed, all the copies I have seen were pressed on very thin vinyl.  Not sure if all Exkursions albums were pressed this way.  Because this was a thin pressing, it seems like many of the albums have a "crackly" ( static ) sound.

In regards to the above LP's, why was't the Caedmon or Vindication LP ever released by a major Christian label?  According to the book "Archivist" by Ken Scott, Caedmon has been called "the best folkrock album ever recorded, Christian or otherwise."    I have never heard the album !  But I know Ken Scott has similar tastes as I do when it comes to Christian music.  And Ken Scott calls Vindication: " bona fide five-star progressive rock from start to finish, quite unlike any other album in Christian music."  

Where was the Christian music industry?  They released all kinds of "sugary-coated" pop music, but the really creative art by underground bands was completely ignored!  WHY?
