FAC-2 – A Factory Sample
This is an original 1979 copy of the Factory Sample, with 4 of the original stickers. Before making an offer, please read the detailed condition description and refer to the photographs as any sale will be final. I’m also happy to provide additional photographs and answer any questions you may have.
The disks: - The disks are supplied in generic sleeves which are plastic lined. - All disks play well given their age; there is the expected level of surface noise given their age. There is a lot of crackling on the lead into the first Cabaret Voltaire song and the Cabaret Voltaire side crackles more than the other three. - The labels on the C and D sides (John Dowie & Cabaret Voltaire) have surface roughness between the 7:00 and 9:00 position (see photographs). As this is the same colour as the rest of the label, it appears that this from manufacturing.
The sleeve: - The plastic outer wrap shows signs of wear / age, including circular marks around the area where the disk labels would be and some general small creases and ruffling on the rest of the area. Again, please check the photographs. - One of the bag seals has failed, meaning the inner paper liner is accessible. The other seal is failing. Both of these are repairable by someone with an appropriate level of skill. - The paper liner is in generally good condition. There is a small fold top left of the Joy Division section. There is a small hole in the black line below the JOHN DOWIE text and a small one just along from that. There is a small hole in the intersection area between the 4 quadrants.
Stickers: - Four of the original five stickers are provided. These are in very good condition.
The item will be sent Royal Mail or other courier signed for and insured. You're also welcome to pick up from just outside Cambridge.
