PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Original 1974 STILL FACTORY SEALED collectible ... never opened / never played
After more or less a year away from the formula that bought fame and fortune, the mighty T-REX & Marc Bolan was unexpectedly back. Under his egotistical leadership, T. Rex had bubbled under the glam-slam-rock pile with two consecutive albums of leaden shush. In England he'd been overtaken in the pop idolatry sweepstakes by Sweet, Slade, Mud, Mott and even the Rubettes. Marc Bolan's increasingly vainglorious pronouncements failed to mask the groups slight decline.
But with Light Of Love Bolan has recharged his vitality, and that raw spirit which galvanized the globe on "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" and Electric Warrior is once again present. He's cleaned up the sludgy aspects of his sound and the songs are much stronger musically. They're still — straight rockers or, more commonly, elementary variations on Sixties Brill Building chord changes — but they sound fresh and attractive.
Bolan's lyrics are still trademarked by the usual pseudo poetic profundity, but the overwrought images and pat rhymes, when confined to Light Of Love's economical material, take on an appealing inevitability. His vocals still retain that amphetamine, amphibian warble, but at times his snarl is tough enough to rival THE SEEDS, a considerable achievement!
The then current British singles "Light Of Love," "Solid Baby," "Till Dawn" and "Token of My Love" lead a generally upbeat collection of original tunes. Overall, Light Of Love is a refreshing comeback for an artist who was counted out much too soon ... highlighted by the riviting "Think Zink" which was as good as anything on Electric Warrior. In fact both sides are filled with infectious grooves that upon repeat listens will ring the listeners mind with T-Rex ecstasies...
