Description

Deep Purple MACHINE HEAD.

Vinyl LP. Cat no TPSA 7504 stereo 1972.
FACTORY SAMPLE/TEST COPY, SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL. OUTSTANDING SOUND REPRODUCTION. MATRIX NO A1U/B1U.

The sleeve is EXTRA THICK and super dark, the darkest ever made. The later the version, the newer the ink and the lighter they get. This FACTORY SAMPLE is darker than the first shop issued copies that were lighter. So very hard to get a copy.

The record is in excellent condition with outstanding sound quality. The earlier the pressing the better the sound quality. Side 1 has a sticker removal mark where the sample sticker was removed. Both sides have some spindle ware. Both labels have MADE IN GB & Gramophone stamped in the correct places.

The gate fold sleeve by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd has some light creases and corner ware. There is no ringware, the spine is clearly legible and the sheen remains bright and smooth. Upon opening there is a strip across the bottom that has had the print removed, probably by some sellotape.

POSTER. A little dog eared, but original with dark edging, this also gets lighter as the issues get later, as like the record covers. So they do match. The paper is of the shiny smooth paper unlike the flimsy rough later issues.

INNER SLEEVE is original with S Stamped (SAMPLE) There is a split in one side.

Please see last picture so show the different issues, these are very difficult to determined without this comparison.

All items will be posted on the Wednesday after the auction ends. This enables plenty of time to pay & only one trip to the Post Office. All non payers will reported to ebay automatically.
