This first stereo press plays to an incredible standard with barely any interference. There is just one static click on 'Decameron' but the rest of this very quiet track plays with stunning precision. The clarity of sound across the entire album is astounding! There are a number of extremely quiet sections and yet there is no background static at all, the audio is crystal clear. When it needs to play with power it does so with great depth and definition and there is no distortion. I cannot emphasise enough just how STUNNING this classic debut album is! The vinyl is visually stunning also which will come as no surprise and there is still a little vinyl 'flecking' around the spindle hole. Hardly any spindle wear either.
The fully laminated cover is in excellent condition with only minimal wear and the original inner sleeve is the same with very little wear. A superb 'package' all round!

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has a stunning glossy sheen with no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a small number of very faint hairlines and there is nothing that stands out. There is no groove or surface wear, it really is a stunning vinyl! The run out grooves are very clean and Polydor labels are almost 'as new' with barely any spindle wear.
Play Grading
The intro on 'Time Will Show The Wiser' plays perfectly and MacDonald's (Matthews) opening vocal section is equal to that that with no intrusion. This 'level' is kept up as it progresses - if anything the vocals are 'cleaner' than the guitar parts, a greater clarity of sound really. No doubt due to how produced / recorded. Still sounds superb all the way through and Mint- is still a fair assessment of the audio.
The very quiet intro on 'I Don't Know Where I Stand' plays beautifully and Dyble's first vocal can also be described 'as new'. It continues to play with flawless clarity and warmth and the instrumental sections here are superb. The mid instrumental and the closing one are prime examples, incredible clarity. The vocals have no background either and are as 'clean' as a record pressed yesterday! This is Mint all the way.
'If (Stomp)' keeps up this fine start and plays with stunning precision throughout. The clarity and definition of the audio is 10/10 and it has to be graded as Mint
'Decameron' is so quiet and yet the clarity is STUNNING! It begins in sublime fashion with a perfect intro and opening vocal and the only intrusion across the entire track is one static click sound as this first section pauses. The remainder has no interference and I cannot overstate just how clean and distinctive the audio is - apart from that one brief intrusion there is not even a dust tick for company. One of the quietest tracks ever recorded and to think this vinyl is 57 years old! It still deserves a Near Mint- grade as 99% is 'as new' basically!
'Jack O'Diamonds' plays with genuine quality with no sign of any interference. A more powerful number if a little understated at times but you cannot fault the sonic quality. No distortion either. Mint
'Portfolio' ends S1 with superb sound and especially for a final track. It's Dyble's only writing credit on the album so it's no surprise the piano features heavily. The intro has no background and as this instrumental progressively gets 'busier' there is no let up in quality and the final section is just as impressive. Mint

S2 begins with a pristine version of 'Chelsea Morning'. From start to finish there are no ticks, clicks, pops or static. The second Joni Mitchell track on the album and it could not play with any greater precision. Mint
'Sun Shade' has just one minor static on the quiet intro and then the opening vocal is 'as new' without any background. A number of quiet sections again and again the clarity is out of this world! It is patently obvious this vinyl has only been lightly played. The mid instrumental is perfect - honestly I cannot believe what I am listening to! So quiet and yet so good! There is one barely audible static at the start of the next vocal and the rest plays to perfection. It has to grade as Mint-
The intro on 'The Lobster' is as close to perfect as is possible with only a couple of mega quiet statics. The vocal when it arrives plays with wonderful clarity and the next quiet section is INCREDIBLE! You'd think you were listening to a CD! Better sonic quality on vinyl of course! The high powered section has no interference or distortion and the final vocal is faultless. Another Mint- at the very least.
'It's Alright Ma, It's Only Witchcraft' impresses on every level also. No intrusion on the audio - a more powerful track and yet the playback is so 'clean' and of course there is no distortion. Superb dynamic work from Thompson. Mint
'One Sure Thing' plays with such warm, clear audio, there is not one negative. Dyble's vocal is stunning and the instrumental has no background either. The final vocal is powerful and is as clean as the day when first released. Mint
'M1 Breakdown' plays with impeccable quality with no interference. As good as new the clarity and depth of the audio is first class, much like the rest of the album! Mint
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The laminated E.J. Day cover is in great condition with only minimal wear. The edges are so clean and the thin spine has only very minimal wear on the edge of the front cover. The corners are in superb shape for their age and the opening edge has barely any handling wear. The front cover has one crease line near the Polydor logo and the smallest amount of laminate 'lift' by the bottom edge. The back cover has no obvious wear at all, it's a superb example overall.
The original Plastic Bags... inner is in excellent condition with no side splits or tears and only a a little age related fading around the edges plus some light creasing.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
