On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Fairport Convention called "What We Did On Our Holidays" and is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK Island Pressing on the 'Textured' Pink 'Block Logo' Island label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST LPs ON THE ISLAND LABEL - AND VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP FOR SALE!!!!  JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE!!!!  BACK IN 1969 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED - IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS, AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!!  AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE, AND IS INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!!  AND HERE ARE THE DETAILS THAT MAKE THIS LP - THE ALL TIME RAREST PRESSING OF THIS LP EVER MADE:-

1) THIS LP WAS NEVER RELEASED IN 1968 (AS OFTEN QUOTED) - BUT ACTUALLY JANUARY 1969.  THIS PRESSING DATES EXACTLY FROM JULY 1969.

2) THE PINK 'EYEBALL' LABEL THIS LP HAD WHEN IT WAS RELEASED IN JANUARY 1969 REMAINED CONTINOUSLY AVAILABLE BETWEEN JANUARY 1969 AND JUNE 1969 - 6 MONTHS.  NATURALLY 90% OF SALES TOOK PLACE IN THIS PERIOD.  WHEREAS THIS 'RAREST EVER' BLOCK LABEL WAS ONLY USED BETWEEN JULY 1969 AND SEPTEMBER 1969 (ONLY 3 MONTHS) AND ONLY 2 OR 3 BATCHES (AROUND 1000 COPIES) WERE EVER MADE ON THIS LABEL.

3) THIS LP HAS UNIQUE MATRIXES TO THIS LABEL ONLY.  AND THESE ARE VERY CURIOUS INDEED.  THE 'A' MATRIX IS ACTUALLY EARLIEST THAN MOST 'EYEBALL' EXAMPLES - AS IT ENDS IN 'A' WITH NO ADDED NUMBERS!!!!  MOST 'EYEBALL' COPIES HAD THE LATER 'A2' MATRIX INSTEAD!!!!  HOWEVER EVEN MORE CURIOUSLY THE B SIDE MATRIX IS '+B3' WHICH WAS NEVER EVER USED ON ANY OTHER LABEL - AND IS THE RAREST MATRIX THIS LP EVER HAD!!!!

4) AND LASTLY - THIS LP COMES WITH A HIGHLY DESIRABLE 'FULLY LAMINATED' COVER (FIRST USED WITH THIS LABEL ONLY!) WHICH LOOKS NATURALLY MILES BETTER THAN THE POORER QUALITY 'VARNISHED BACKED' COVERS USED PREVIOUSLY.  AND THIS WAS EXACTLY WHY THE COVERS WERE CHANGED - BECAUSE THE 'VARNISHED BACKS' RUBBED SO EASILY!!!!

ONLY AROUND 1000 COPIES WERE EVER MADE LIKE THIS - AND IT IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE ALL TIME RAREST PRESSING OF THIS LP EVER MADE!!!!

NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION - AND HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL!!!!  JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!!  THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1969 UK PRESSING ON RAREST EVER 'TEXTURED' PINK 'BLOCK LOGO' ISLAND LABEL, UNIQUE A/B3 MATRIX ENDINGS, ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE AND RAREST EVER FULLY LAMINATED COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL Island UK Pressing from 1969 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl.  The Cat. No is ILPS 9092 on the RAREST EVER Island Label (see picture) and is a UK Stereo Pressing (there were NO Monos)!!!!

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!!  IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASN'T BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!!  The vinyl is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 MEGA light hairlines, NO scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW!!!!  The record plays with NO pops, barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some VERY slight background sound on the run on grooves & gaps - NOT in the music AT ALL!!!!  The record is also a touch uneven - though this does not affect play in the slightest!!!!  The sound quality is simply SUPERB - with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!!  BRILLIANT RECORD!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!!  I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  The ORIGINAL 'RAREST EVER' Fully Laminated Cover is in BRILLIANT condition!!!!  It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), NO splits, only a few VERY light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), NO rips, NO tears, only some very VERY minor evidence of 'tipping in' to the corners, NO annotations, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!!!!  Even the laminated back of the cover is in BRILLIANT condition with NO grubbyness, NO yellowing, and NO writing!!!!  The cover must grade Very Good++ if not better!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
