Up for auction is the 1st Pressing of this VINYL LP by FAIRPORT CONVENTION with the LP VISUALLY in MINT condition and the SLEEVE in NEAR MINT condition.

First press of this release, with 'white i' on pink 'Island' label. Gatefold un-laminated cover, with inner spread that's packed with folklore text & images.
(Later covers have slightly 'darker' purple print)
Matrix Nos & Mother stampers ILPS 9115 A // 1 1 1 & ILPS 9115 B // 1 2 1 2C 1
The mother stampers are not easy to identify, which necessitated a magnifying glass for me to verify.VINYL IN MINT CONDITION
Despite the assistance of a bright light, it is hard work trying to find any fine hairline marks on this shining example of this seminal classic English folk album. The vinyl has a wonderful deep shine, looks firm, immaculate and appears solid. I have only graded the vinyl as visual, as there is very little evidence of the vinyl being played. Impressive - beyond belief considering the age of this timeless classic.
SLEEVE IN NEAR MINT CONDITION
Outer gatefold - Superb firm and solid. No fading, no trace of sticky labels, no creases on the outer face. Some rubbing & minor wear on sleeve opening edges. some minor light creases near the spine. Some scuff marks on the artwork to the left of the opening side
Inside gatefold - In pristine condition - It's appearance indicates - as new.
Corners & Edges - Very minor wear on the spine. The spine is firm and the text is clearly readable. Some rubbing/minor wear on sleeve opening edge. Minimal loss of colour in two small areas on the lower edge of the outer gatefold.
RECORD LABELS
Original white 'i' on pink island label with witches logo. Deep pink coloured label with rough edges in nice, crystal clear and clean condition. No remains of sticky residue, labels or unwanted writing.
Very minor spindle impressions that are tough to spot and various spiderlines that are only noticeable when held up to the light.
OVERALL IN SUPERB CONDITION - TO BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many gasl-tps, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
I DO NOT SELL ANY VINYL GRADED LESS THAN VG, UNLESS IT IS ANYTHING THAT IS VERY RARE OR SPECIAL.
