On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Fairport Convention called 'What We Did On Our Holidays' and is a VERY rare 1968 UK 'EARLIEST' 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Island 'Circle' logo label!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  BUT THIS ONE IS VERY VERY SPECIAL INDEED!!!!  THIS IS THE ULTRA RARE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING WITH DIFFERENT MATRIXES & GROOVES AND IS IN SUPERB CONDITION!!!!  I WILL EXPLAIN THE VERY IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THIS ALL IMPORTANT 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING - AND ALL LATER PRESSINGS!!!!  FIRSTLY IT HAS THE 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' MATRIXES ENDING IN A & B - WITH NO NUMBERS!!!!  THESE MATRIXES WERE CHANGED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER RELEASE - WITH MOST STANDARD 1ST PRESSINGS HAVING A/B2 MATRIX ENDINGS!!!!  SECONDLY THIS LP HAS AN 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS COVER - WITH A DIFFERENT DESIGN ON THE COVER BACK!!!!  IF YOU LOOK AT MY PICTURES YOU CAN CLEAR SEE THE 'ISLAND' LOGO ON THE COVER BACK IS RIGHT AGAINST THE OPENING EDGE AND THERE IS RADICAL DIFFERENCES TO THE TEXT ON THE BOTTOM REVERSE OF THE COVER - WITH A VERY LARGE GAP BETWEEN THE 'SIDE ONE' LISTING ON THE BOTTOM LEFT & THE 'SIDE TWO' LISTING TOWARDS THE MIDDLE!!!!  ON ALL LATER COVERS THE 'ISLAND LOGO' WAS MOVED MUCH FURTHER IN, AND THE TEXT ON THE BACK OF THE COVER WAS CORRECTLY SPACED TO LEAVE MORE EVEN GAPS!!!!  THESE COVER DIFFERENCES ONLY OCCOUR ON THE VERY 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS COVERS!!!!   IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS COVER AS AN 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1968 1ST PRESSING HAS A LAMINATED FRONT COVER AND 'SHINY' UNLAMINATED BACK (ALL LATER PRESSINGS WERE DIFFERENT - WITH EITHER A 'MATT' BACKED COVER (LATER 1969/EARLY 1970) OR A FULLY LAMINATED COVER (MID 1970))!!!!  AND LASTLY THIS LP HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GROOVE LAYOUT!!!!  ON SIDE 2 (WITH THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS 'B' MATRIX ENDING) ON THIS ULTRA RARE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING THERE ARE 5 GAPS AND SIX SEPARATE TRACKS!!!!  AND THERE IS ALSO A VERY LARGE 'GAP' AROUND THE LABELS WITH LARGE RUN OFF GROOVES!!!!  HOWEVER ON ALL LATER PRESSINGS WITH A 'B2' MATRIX ENDING, THE GROOVES WERE RADICALLY CHANGED - WITH ONLY 4 GAPS AND ONLY FIVE SEPARATE TRACKS!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THE GROOVE PATTERNS ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND THE GROOVES END MUCH CLOSER TO THE CENTRE HOLE - WITH A VERY SMALL 'RUN OFF' AREA!!!!  QUITE WHY THIS WAS CHANGED IS HARD TO SAY.  PERHAPS A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT MIX?  OR THE SOUND WASNT QUITE CORRECT?  IT IS DIFFICULT TO KNOW FOR SURE.  BUT WHAT IS CERTAIN IS THAT FINDING AN ULTRA RARE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING WITH 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS MATRIXES & DIFFERENT GROOVE SPACINGS IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN SUPERB CONDITION (AS MENTIONED ABOVE) AND IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND LIKE THIS!!!!  THIS IS THE 1968 UK 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS 'TEXTURED' ISLAND 'CIRCLE' LOGO LABEL, 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS A/B MATRIX ENDINGS, 1ST PRESS INNER SLEEVE, AND 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS LAMINATED COVER!!!!  THIS LP IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS AN 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING AND SERIOUSLY RARE IN THIS SUPERB CONDITION - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!  This is the ORIGINAL UK 'Earliest' 1st pressing from 1968 and is in STUNNING condition!!!! The record is pressed on thick quality vinyl. The Cat. No is ILPS 9092 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Island label (see picture) and is a 1968 Stereo 1st pressing (there were NO Monos)!!!!

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a VERY few light spindle marks!!!! IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HASNT BEEN PLAYED MUCH AT ALL!!!! The vinyl is in STUNNING condition!!!!  Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable.  This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 1 ULTRA light hairline trace (NON sounding and only visible under EXTREME light), and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!!  ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!  THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!!  It is great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle!!!!  The sound quality is simply AWESOME with NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must STRICTLY grade Excellent(Minus) if not better - and is INCREDIBLY hard to find in this condition!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record also comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press inner sleeve!!!!  The 'Earliest' 1st Press Laminated Cover is in STUNNING condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, only slight corner wear (NOT through the colour), only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking), shiny laminate, and NO writing!!!!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back is in STUNNING condition with NO writing, NO grubbyness, NO yellowing, NO ringwear, and AMAZINGLY NO rubbing!!!!  The cover must VERY strictly grade Excellent(Minus) if not better - and is INCREDIBLY hard to find in this condition!!!!  THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND AS A 'EARLIEST POSSIBLE' 1ST PRESSING WITH A/B MATRIX ENDINGS (ESPECIALLY IN THIS CONDITION) - SO  DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE OPPORTUNITY!!!!
