Description
Here we have an excellent condition copy of Family's astonishing album Music In A Doll's House in Mono on the original riverboat Reprise label. I say astonishing because I have only just discovered this album and wonder why I missed it all those years ago. Released in 1968 this must have been a real groundbreaker with Chapman's unearthly vocals and eerie synthesizer coming out of I know not where. See the third picture for the lovely company inner bag and spooky insert picture of the band; they didn't look too happy and I wouldn't argue with them. The sleeve is a triple flipback by Garrod & Lofthouse and has a perfectly legible and clean spine; the only thing to mar it is a crease in the top right hand corner which suggests some TWIT may have picked it up by its corner when the record was still in it. The vinyl is thick and in good order but with a few fingerprints and very minor scuffs. The record plays through beautifully with small areas of distortion and a couple of pops here and there but nothing to really spoil the pleasure of listening to this absolute blinder of a disc. The etched dead wax matrices are RLP 6312 A-3G and B-3G suggesting a very early pressing. Selling it for a friend otherwise I wouldn't be on here, I'd keep it for myself. Come and have a look!
