78 rpm Grading Standards: (from Fifth Edition of the American Premium Record Guide~1900-1965 by Les Docks)
NEW (N): Apparently unplayed and showing no signs of wear. Rarely found or sold in this condition. EXCELLENT (E): Showing only slight wear. Playing surfaces still retain much of their original shine. Surface noise is minimal. VERY GOOD (VG): Somewhat more worn than an excellent record, but still a fairly clean and acceptable copy. Surface and extraneous noise is noticeable, but does not overwhelm the music. GOOD (G): Shows considerable wear and usage, grayness in the grooves, random mars and light abrasions. Surface noise is prominent enough to impair enjoyment of music. FAIR (F) and POOR (P) indicate the lowest grades of the condition code. Since only the rarest records would be saleable in these grades, they appear infrequently. Plus and minus signs are often affixed to above grades to indicate a somewhat better or worse grade, when appropriate.Packaging & Shipping:
- 78 rpm records are fragile and will be professionally shipped to avoid any damage or breakage. All records are sleeved, sandwiched between cardboard, wrapped in protective bubble wrap and shipped in a new custom record box.
- Shipping discount is available when buying more than one item. Request a quote prior to purchase, or purchase multiple items and wait for an invoice with combined items shipping charge.
International Shipping:
- If sales transaction total is over $50 I will not be able to ship First Class Mail International since there is no insurance or tracking information available. You must then select either Priority or Express Mail International as shipping option, unless prior approval to ship First Class is received.
- Import duties, taxes and charges are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the item price or shipping charges. Merchandise will not be marked below value or as a "gift".
Payment:
- Payment is expected within 7 days and if no communication after 10 days an unpaid item dispute will be filed.
- If you purchase an item and are also bidding on another that ends 7-10 days later, please inform me so I can track expected payment date.
Return Policy:
- I am very conservative in grading and typically listen to each record, so all items are sold as described. However, if not satisfied with an item you've purchased, please contact me to discuss.
