FATS NAVARRO "Memorial Album" 10" Blue Note LP 5004, "P", "DG," Frame Cover, Mono 10" Vinyl.

This is the 1952, first-pressing, 10" Deep-Groove, Flat-Rim, Frame Cover, "P"-pressing of FATS NAVARRO's "Memorial Album" on the 767 Lexington Ave NYC labels of Blue Note BLP 5004. Musicians include Ernie Henry, Curly Russell, Nelson Boyd, Tommy Potter, Kenny Clarke, Roy Haynes, Shadow Wilson, Bud Powell, Milton Jackson, Tadd Dameron, Charlie Rouse, Sonny Rollins, Wardell Gray, Fats Navarro, Howard McGhee.

 

This is Blue Note 10-inch vinyl has consistent low-level surface noise. Record plays nicely. Both sides have excellent gloss. A few hairline non-feelable marks. Side 1, #1 has repeating tick. Both Deep Groove labels clean (one with smudging from attempted cleaning) with minimal spindle marks.  No warps, No Distortion. As with all Lexington Ave to New York USA Blue Note pressings, minor imperfections do not detract from this powerfully recorded and pressed vinyl.  This is a rare and important disc. 

Frame COVER is in OK shape; various areas taped, see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
