FEDERAL DUCK - self-titled
original 1968 vinyl Musicor MS-3162
Yowza, here's a rare one: 1st/only press of this psychedelic acid rock album new, in the original (albeit tatty) factory wraps. I recently scored this from a former 1960s record store owner, who had kept this in storage in his basement for 45+ years. I bought ~50 of his late-60s new old-stock/still-in-shrink vinyl records, mostly funk and world-beat, completely cleaning me out in the process. I'm selling this gem so I can eat something besides vintage wax.
NEW / NEVER OPENED! What an amazing copy - no bends, dents, creases, edge chips, breaks. Cover is bright, unfaded, and unstressed. No signs of edge wear, except where mentioned. Drill hole at left lower corner, otherwise no splits, dents, drills, promo cuts/notches. Sticker on right top of exposed sleeve. Touch of rub to gloss at left of spine where the shrink came away. There is also a mild 1/2" seam near-split/fray to the middle TOP of the sleeve - the bottom is fine. 3 out of four corners have a mild color chip where the shrink was pulled away.
Shrink is tatty and brittle but seals the album. The top right corner has a shrink tear where a sticker was originally placed (probably by the distributor) and has the original retail sticker in that gap placed directly on the sleeve. There is a split to the LEFT / title spine almost all the way down - the right opening side is still sealed shut. This section is missing a chunk and the peel is slightly dusty. Shrink itself is scuffy. Shrink has usual factory "H" wrap & breather holes, price sticker to right top - absolutely no evidence of this ever having been opened or being a re-wrap. Despite the harsh wrap assessment, this still appears to be an amazing copy of the rare album!
