FELT – “self-titled” (1971) Nasco-9006 [ORIGINAL PRESSING] one of the all-time psych rarities – Strong VG+/VG+ (cover/record) a really clean copy

Here’s one of the all-time top psych rarities. The five-member group was out of Alabama, and they were led by 17-year-old guitarist Myke Jackson who composed the songs, served as lead singer, and was also the arranger. He’s backed by Mike Neel on drums, Tommy Gilstrap on electric bass, Stan Lee on electric guitar, and Allan Dalyrmple on keyboard. The Fuzz, Acid and Flowers guide says “Their album, which is full o fgood guitar work and fine vocals, has become a very rare collectors’ item.”

The songs are “Look at the Sun,” “Now She’s Gone,” “Weepin’ Mama Blues,” “World,” “The Change” (clocking in at 10:10), and “Destination” (6:43). This album never turns up, and it also sports one of the freakiest covers EVER!

This is an original pressing. The cover is in great shape with almost no wear and very strong seams. The name “Dana” is written in blue ballpoint pen in the top right front corner and again on the back right middle cover. It’s not bad. At some point, someone (probably Dana!) used two pieces of clear scotch tape to close the jacket opening, and there are two pieces on both the front and back covers. Someone could probably use goo-gone to get rid of them, but I’m not going to fool with it to prevent tearing the cover. The vinyl has some very light line scuffs but it is clean and glossy and plays very well with only minimal surface noise – certainly nothing that really distracts from the listening experience. If you’re a mint crazy collector, don’t bid on this. If you can enjoy a VG+ LP, you’ll be very happy with this. It certainly doesn’t come up for auction much. I grade this conservatively Strong VG+/VG+ (cover/record).

Winner pays postage. Domestic U.S. shipping is $3.50 media rate or $8 for priority mail (insurance additional and quoted at cost). Shipping to Canada is $7 for airmail or $4 for surface mail. I will quote overseas postage when overseas winning bidder specifies air/surface mail – a good guideline is $7 for a single LP by surface mail and $14 for a single LP by airmail.

I package all LPs securely in record mailers and remove the vinyl from the covers to prevent seam splits during mailing. I do not just stick your record in a priority mailer box from the post office or between two thin pieces of cardboard with no additional packaging materials like so many others!!!

Domestic Bidders – Personal checks are cool for payment but must clear (10 business days). Money orders get next day shipping. Overseas Bidderfs – we’ll work this out – I’m really flexible. I accept cash in a registered letter, IMOs, and bank checks drawn in US dollars and sent to me from the bank’s U.S. branch (must have magnetic ink U.S. routing numbers printed along bottom). I am not able to accept Paypal or any other credit card payment. Please don’t bid and then say you can only pay by paypal – Paypal is not an option for me, and I will leave you negative feedback if you do not complete the transaction by one of the methods noted above.

Why don’t I accept Paypal? I once was a credit card merchant, operating BreakDownRecords dot com, and processing customers credit cards online using the security software provided to me through the credit card company. When someone paid by credit card, they were actually on the CREDIT CARD COMPANY'S OWN merchant processing site. Someone hacked into the credit card company's site, used my particular merchant account to process thousands of stolen credit card numbers to verify the numbers in conjunction with various expiration dates, and I lost $3,000 as a result. PayPal.com operates the exact same way. That's when I learned that as a credit card merchant, you have absolutely no redress with the credit card companies, even if it's from their end that the theft occurs. That's how they're able to offer you, the credit card user, unlimited protection. So, as a result, I'll buy things with a credit card, but no way in hell will I ever accept them again as a seller. The reward is not worth the risk.
