I have for sale a record by the 50s/60s band FINETONES INC off of SOUND records. This is a 45 RPM 7" record. The two songs on the record are THE BIG "G" and SHORT CIRCUIT. I have listened to this record the whole way through. It sounds like really cool 60s surfer rock or garage music. Other markings on the label include: S1-108 SoN 19702 SoN 19701 Dist by Sound of Nashville Inc 160 2nd Ave S Nashville Tenn Produced by Howard Walker. Both songs are written by Dick Mortiny. Mitten Music BMI 1:58 (length of time for Short Circuit I am guessing) BMI 2:02 (for THE BIG "G"). The serial numbers are also carved into the part next to the label (where the needle goes to after the song is over).
I am not a professional record collector by any means, I am just a guy who buys cheap records for fun. I like to listen to them around the house. I picked up this record at a garage sale for a couple bucks, and have had it since. I have not cleaned it or modified it at all. I have listened to it the whole way through a few times and it sounds great. It doesn't skip or anything like that. It does sound like you would expect a 50+ year old record to sound (white noise, soft clicks). All of this to say, I do not know the "grade" or exact condition rating. It looks good and it plays without skipping.
I have gone to two record shops and neither of the guys even heard or could find information on this group. This is an extremely rare record, hence the price I am selling it for. The only other thing I know about this band is that they were a Michigan garage band.
