Description

ARTIST: YARDBIRDS

TITLE: FIVE LIVE YARDBIRDS

LABEL: COLUMBIA SX 1677

This is a UK MONO copy of Five Live Yardbirds with fantastic vinyl that looks to have been played very little - it has only a very few extremely light 'paper-type' whispey marks caused by removal from sleeve (no deeper marks or scuffs at all) and it PLAYS like NEW. I would grade this the highest EX++. The laminated flipback cover is again fantastic and grades EX+ at least with extremaly clean unlaminated rear.(see photos) The advertising inner is EX (a small side split where the LP has cut it is all. So overall you will go along way to better this copy of the great Yardbirds LP.

The LP has matrix numbers XAX 2725-1 N and  XAX 2726-1N which you will know denotes the first pressing of this LP. The stampers are 1,RD and 1,GP - again denoting an early pressing. However there is the issue because this is on the black Columbia label.  Contrary to the UK RC Guide there are three different issues all of which were pressed using the same 'first press' matrixes. They were 33SX1677 on the black/blue label - the first, then SX1677 again on the black/blue label and then this one SX1677 on the black box label. I have copies of all three in my collection and can vouch that this information is correct.

BUYER INFORMATION

PLEASE NOTE I NO LONGER USE THE TERM 'MINT' OR 'NEAR MINT' to describe vinyl. In practice there are very few records out there that have not been played at least once except those still sealed in shrink wrap. I aim to describe the visual appearance of all items accurately using the standards below which are based on the UK Record Collector Price Guide. The highest grade I use now is EX++. Please read the description of the item in the listing carefully and study photographs to avoid disappointment later. I will refund only on items which do not conform to the description and standards set out here.

GRADING SYSTEM

EXCELLENT: The item has been played and may have some light surface marks but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Cover and contents have slight wear.

VERY GOOD: The record has been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Cover and contents show some wear.

GOOD:The record has been played and alot and sound quality has deteriorated noticeably. The cover and contents are damaged.

I use EX++,EX+,EX,EX-,VG++,VG+,VG,VG- as subsidiary gradings. Unless the record is extremely rare I do not sell items which are less than VG- in condition.

Check out my feedback and you will feel secure in bidding but please note I will only refund if the item has been misgraded based on these definitions. I cannot guarantee to describe every detail of the record and cover BUT the grading will reflect the general, actual condition. ONLY if the grading does not reflect the condition will I refund. I do not refund return postage costs.

I accept PayPal, cheques drawn on UK banks, IMOs, Postal Orders and cash (GB£s) at the buyer's risk.
