Description
Flaming Youth - 'Ark 2' - 1969 LP on the Fontana label - STL 5533. Triple gatefold with the plastic 'mock stained glass' sleeve centrepiece. Of interest because Phil Collins was in the band pre Genesis. Much put down as an album I think but I actually thought it was rather good if you can ignore the 60s pretensions..
Visually the record appears to have only a few faint marks with the vinyl retaining a good lustre. The album plays with some surface noise however - this is worst particularly at the beginnings of the sides and is somewhat worse on side 1. Not noticeable for much of the play however and the record remains very listenable - certainly I enjoyed it. There are no major defects such as severe scratches, 'jumps' or 'sticking'. It certainly justifies a clear grading of at least VG, with much of the record playing better than this.
The sleeve remains presentable with just moderate wear and dirtying. There is some wear / creasing around the centrepiece which is slightly 'off line' (I think that it has always been like this). There are no serious creases, tears or other examples of major damage. I would hgrade as at least VG+
I can accept payment in the UK by cheque, postal order or Paypal. If purchasing abroad Paypal only please. First class postage in the UK is £3.00; Europe £5; rest of the world £7. I will take particular care with packaging.
