Description

Flee Past's Ape Elf - Orchid Spangiafora - on Twin/Tone Records out of Minneapolis from 1978. Cvr/ VG+ (corner bangs/bends, lite ringwear, dirt) Rec/ M-. Here is a description from the web.  Orchid Spangiafora, an obscure project in the LAFMS tradition, surrealistic aesthetics, provide with a sound collage with cut-ups, tape manipulations, tape loops, way ahead of its' time. The whole idea was taken some time after from Negativland or Nurse with wound, People like us. But these guys here were the first to produce something like this, really crazy and with a great sense of humour!! The group consisted of Rob Carey sometimes aided by Byron Coley & Chris Osgood (of the Suicide Commandos). Released on the Twin Tone record label, featured on the Nww list of influences and if you listen to this record, you can understand that it is a major infuence to Nww's work.
Vinyl grades excellent looks great, while cover is excellent-. Might appeal to fans of experimental, psych, progressive, LAFMS, Le Forte Four, Airway, Negativland, People like us, John Cage, Pierre Henry, musique concrete, Broken Music, Stockhausen, Xenakis, AMM, David Tudor, Pierre Schaeffer, Henri Chopin, Joseph Beuys, Nam June Paik, Alvin Curran, Stockhausen, Xenakis, La Monte Young, Nurse with wound, Asmus Tietchens, Zoviet France, Hafler Trio, John Duncan, Leif Ellgrenn, Hausswolff, Merzbow, Organum and similar!

RECORD GRADES USED

Lps graded under a "natural sunlight" lamp = to 150 watts

M- Like new but may have a single small mark or a small area of very lite sleeve wear, none of which affect play
VG++ May have a very few lite marks/scuffs, sleeve wear, play will probably not be affected
VG+ Has some lite scratches/scuffs, maybe writing on label, may play with occasional lite noise
VG Will have more noticable scratches/scuffs than VG+, may play with greater amount of lite noise
G Lots of visual lite scratches/scuffs but still plays good with lite to moderate noise, nothing too distracting
Fair Moderate scratches but still plays good for the most part with maybe constant lite noise, no skips, pops or ticks

HOW I PACK RECORDS

I use cardboard lp mailer with cardboard filler pad. I take the record out of the jacket and put it in a another separate jacket so original does not get seam split damage etc. The countries of Italy, Korea, South America, Eastern Europe must have some albums sent registered mail.
