Focal Point - 'Sycamore Syd / Love You Forever'. DM 186
Focal Point rare WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING of the 'Sycamore Syd / Love You Forever' 7" single. Offered here with simply stunning EXCELLENT+/MINT- condition vinyl.
Focal Point are interestingly most notable for being the first band signed to the Beatles own Apple Records label. Originally from Liverpool they were due to be managed by Brian Epstein before his untimely death in 1967. By 1968 they had signed a recording and publishing deal with Apple Records. Due to tensions within the band and personal problems the Apple recording sessions failed to be completed and they re-signed with Deram shortly after. As the publishing deal with Apple was still firmly in place the Deram vinyl issues carry the 'Apple Publishing' credit.
Released on a white test pressing label both sides carry numerous hand written notes and reference numbers. 'DM 186' is the Deram catalogue number, 'Apple Publishing' and 'Sycamore Sid' incorrectly spelt, it should read 'Sycamore Syd'.
The Matrix numbers are:
Side 1. DR 42236 SYCAMORE SYD (Different spelling to the labels).
Side 2. DR 42235 LOVE YOU FOREVER
The vinyl is in EXCELLENT+/MINT- condition.
Both sides of the vinyl have been play tested with NO faults, absolutely perfect.
Both labels are in MINT- condition. Handwritten notes to each side.
The sleeve is in EXCELLENT- condition. Plain white.
