Description
I could talk for hours about this band from Springfield, Missouri. I was turned on to Power Pop back in the 80's and had a subscription to "Trouser Press" who featured this band. If you sent $10, you could get the "Tell America" LP and for $20 they would send that and the "Public Places" LP. Their first album "Here To Observe" was privately pressed in very limited quantities. Their shows were exciting and those who were witness, raved about the band. The records should have been picked up by the major labels and they could have been nationwide hero's. Every album has 3-4 top 100 hits, but things for whatever reason didn't pan out. They traveled to LA and made one last attempt to gain notice, making the "Red Tape". Few if any of these exist. Another shot in the arm, but they never found major label backing. Shame on the record companies who by this time were only looking at the visual pictures and MTV and passed up on musical talent. "Fools Face" could write songs that had staying power, they could rock out with dual guitars, had three and four part harmonies and grabbed you with hooks galore. The major labels just didn't see the potential, but the fans did and kept them alive to this day. In appreciation and gratitude, "Fools Face" put together another album (in CD form) titled "Fools Face" again in limited quantity. They sold it at local stores in Springfield and St. Louis. Cherished by fans it quickly sold out. Then the "Live At Last" CD came out from a show circa 2000 and that was that. Every album was a very limited pressing and are extremely hard to find. The CD's and especially the "Red Tape" are almost impossible to acquire.
This first album was put together during their infancy and shows the talents of how great they were. It shows up maybe once or twice a year on e-bay. The home made Cover has very minor discoloration. The Record plays VG++ to EX throughout. Includes the inner lyric sleeve.
The RED TAPE is also listed elsewhere on e-bay.
