FOREIGNER “RECORDS” Vinyl 1982 Atlantic 80999-1 US FIRST PRESSING Original NM/NM. Great compilation of their Hits from their first four albums, up to 1981. Original 1982 release—I believe there is a reissue from 2018 or so. Has the cool die-cut “Jukebox” gatefold jacket, with the ten cut-out “jukebox” slots, and the inner sleeve has the song selection titles. See pictures. This album was a huge hit with fans—it has been certified 7X Platinum (over 7 million copies sold!) I bought this back in the day. I could have sworn I bought it from Columbia House record club, but I see no indications of Columbia House anywhere. It could still be from Columbia House though, as many records did not have any indications. They of course used the regular vinyl and jackets etc. A really nice full near-mint copy from my own collection.
Mastered by George Marino at STERLING SOUND NYC. Pressed at Specialty Records Corporation, Olyphant, Pennsylvania. So a TOP Production and Pressing. This album was Released November 29, 1982. In the Matrix / Dead-Wax / Runout area, on this record, are a few Christmas greetings! One of the very cool things you can sometimes find in this area of the vinyl, and certainly proof of the first Mastering and Pressing, in this case: SIDE ONE: “MERRY XMAS TO ROMAN & CHRISTOPHER.” SIDE TWO: “MERRY XMAS TO NICHOLAS” and “MERRY XMAS TO NIKKI & DANIEL.”
