This first pressing plays with superb audio, there is hardly any intrusion.  The first track on S2 has a 3/4 seconds of static right at the beginning and the final track has some light background at the very end.  There are no clicks or pops anywhere and the clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is stunning overall and especially when you consider how many quiet sections there are.  The vinyl is very clean with only one hairline 'mark' (see below).
The smooth textured E.J. Day cover has retained its shape and structure perfectly but does have some fading / buffing which is a little more obvious on the back.  I'm not sure if the poly-lined inner sleeve is the original but it is nonetheless dated 8-70 and has Foreign patents pending and two British / UK patent numbers on it.

The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T5 Near Mint-)
The audio on S2 is Mint(-) (T1 intro VG for 3/4 seconds / T4 Near Mint- then closing section Ex+ for a few seconds)
The cover is a strong VG+   The inner sleeve is Ex
The pink 'i' labels are Near Mint
Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no scratches.  Confession time!  When I first removed the vinyl from the inner my thumbnail slipped and made a thin hairline scratch mark on the first track and a little of the second.  However, I say hairline still because it has literally no affect on the superb audio.  Aside from that the vinyl is in lovely condition with hardly any hairlines, a handful at most and even they are difficult to find!  There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are super clean also.  The pink 'i' labels are unmarked but do have some spindle wear on S1 and very little on S2.
Play Grading
The piano intro on 'Nothing More' plays beautifully with no intrusion and Denny's opening vocal section is equally as clean.  Wonderful clarity thus far.  A couple of barely audible statics that is all.  From then on it plays so clearly whereby each note is so sharply defined.  There is no 'muddiness' to the sound, there is nothing getting in the way and Donahue's solo is a prime example of that.  The quiet end vocal and closing instrumental have no intrusion either.  A stunning Mint- version with only a couple of minor statics for company.
The gentle acoustic intro on 'The Sea' plays with stunning precision and Denny's first vocal is so close to that with only a handful of very quiet background statics.  As I often say... they scarcely warrant a mention as they are totally non-intrusive.  It continues to play as per a vinyl that has been so well preserved i.e. with no interference.  The mid instrumental is of course so quiet and yet it plays with sublime clarity and warmth and the rest of the track is just as impressive.  Mint-
Lucas takes over singing and writing duties on 'The Ballad Of Ned Kelly' and it plays with superb audio throughout.  Denny is on backing vocal during the choruses which adds a certain melody to the track and I cannot fault it.  A handful of barely audible statics that is all.  Mint-
'Winter Winds' is the quietest track on the side and it plays with exceptional clarity through every vocal and instrumental section.  Again each note is so clean and precise.  Lovely!  Mint-
The acoustic intro on 'Peace In The End' is 'as new' and the opening 'vocal' passage is just as strong.  The first verse has no interference but there is a little inner groove distortion albeit minimal, a common issue with final tracks of course.  Being honest it is only during the chorus sections but I must stress it is hardly intrusive and it still plays extremely well... for a final track.  I am just brutally honest when it comes to grading!  Near Mint- is still a fair assessment of the audio.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is some static right at the start of the intro on 'The Way I Feel' but it lasts for 3/4 seconds max.  The rest of this acoustic section is 'as new' and the same can be said for the opening vocal section.  Great depth of sound here also aided so much by Donaldson's deep bass.  As the pace and volume increase the playback is spectacular!  The warmth and depth of the audio is sublime and this quality persists into the next 'louder' section.  I cannot stress enough just how strong and clear the audio is - Conway's fine drumming is a vital part of this Lightfoot classic and the quieter vocal near the end plays with impeccable precision also.  The closing bass / instrumental section play with stunning quality also, there is just very quiet tick.  I will grade the first 3/4 seconds as VG but the rest is easily Mint-
Another Denny composition 'The Pond And The Stream' plays with exceptional clarity from the word go.  The intro is perfect and the opening vocal is the same really with only a couple of barely audible statics.  This standard is prevalent throughout - once again the warmth and depth of the audio are synonymous with a beautifully preserved vinyl and even with a couple of minor statics on the fade out it is still worthy of a Mint- grade.
'Too Much Of Nothing' plays with phenomenal clarity and depth from start to finish.  With literally no background this has to grade as Mint and sonically it has lost nothing.  Outstanding!   The very gentle intro on 'Banks Of The Nile' plays with stunning clarity, there are only two barely audible statics.  Denny's first classic vocal is more or less the same with only a small number of minor statics and there are of course no ticks, clicks or pops.  This is a long section and yet the playback is so clean and 'fresh' sounding.  It is by far the longest track on the album and the next section as Conway comes in is just as impressive.  There is just a hint of the quietest static imaginable during some of the quieter moments but it is totally non-intrusive.  I'm already on my second play and it has already decreased, the stylus fulfilling it's self-cleaning exercise very well.  The very quiet closing section has one light tick and then the long fade out is very clean with only minimal background.  Overall I will say this is Near Mint- with an Ex+ closing section for a few seconds.
The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve

The smooth textured E.J. Day cover is in very good to excellent condition with not too much shelf wear.  The edges have only minimal rubbing and the spine is still wide and strong with barely any wear.  The right hand corners have just a little more wear and the opening edge is in superb shape.  The front cover has only a little faint scuffing on the left and some edge rubbing on the right but otherwise remains very clean.  The back cover does have a little more fading / marking mainly on the left and right side but there is no damage.  The inside of the gatefold is in lovely condition with no obvious wear.  I guess a strong VG+ is a fair grade.

The poly-lined inner sleeve is in excellent condition with no side splits or tears and minimal marking, mainly some ringwear.  There is vert little creasing.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
