Description

This is a collection of four rare original spoken word LPs from the civil rights movement, the Black Power movement, and the Black Panther movement.  All in great condition.  The records are as follows:
Angela Davis - Soul and Soledad 1971 Flying Dutchman Records - White Label Promo - the disc is near perfectly mint and plays flawlessly. The cover is excellent, also almost perfect, wi to just a touch of very light cornerwear. A top, beautiful copy.
Angela Davis Speaks - 1971 Folkways Records - comes with transcription insert. The disc is absolutely perfect, looks unplayed. The cover has some water damage at the lower left corner where there is some fraying and ripping. See photos. Not too bad, and still nicely intact otherwise.
Malcolm X - Ballots or Bullets - 1965 First Amendment Records - Released by Malcolm X's friends and family as a way to raise money for his widow after his assassination in 1965. The disc is near perfect, with a mark on side one that does not affect the play. Plays almost flawlessly. The cover has minor general shelfwear, with a bit of light corner wear and overall signs of use. There is a name sticker on the back, also. But overall it is in way better condition than most you see. No seam splits or real damage. Just light wear. A truly great copy.
Eldridge Cleaver - Soul on Wax - 1968 More Record Company - recorded at Syracuse. The disc has a few light scuffs and superficial marks but is mostly shiny and immaculate. Plays beautifully with only occasional light ticks. The cover has some general shelfwear and a seam split about 2/3 of the way across the top edge. The spine is fraying a little at the top and there is small writing at the top right on the back. Someone stamped the back with "If you can't baffle them with brilliance... befuddle them with BULLSHIT." ...which I find charmingly hilarious. Anyhow this is a very good copy of this rarity.
A great collection of relics from the political turmoil of the Civil Rights era, fascinating to hear even today.
