LOVE HURT AND FIRE Lp by FRANCO CRESCENZO' PROJECT MICRESOUND. Original German pressing on MORA label (FCM 7911-18), from 1979. Unconventional sounding, disco funk oddity led by the cosmic Italian conga player with group. Features several maverick trax for DJs :) A private press item, released only in Germany but everything about this project has Italian roots. FRANCOISE is Crescenzo's sleazy homage to the Serge Gainsbourg / Histoire de Melody Nelson anthem with boom bap - hip hop tempo drums / sexy vocals sung in French (and Italian) / cinematic jazz piano / flute and moody bassline a la 'San Me Kyttas' (the Yannis Spanos - Ekeino To Kalokairi Greek soundtrack tune). Subtle changes midway, where the hi hats come alive before sliding back into the stoned main theme. The bump 'n' hustle of F.F. FUNKY is a bass-heavy instrumental (the opening track on our soundclip) with killer congas and drum breaks / atmospheric synth and wah wah guitar shredding. Thumping disco beats on a Giorgio Moroder tip with punk funk bass / freaky operatic vocals / polymoog / clavinet and strange Romani folk sounds on the incredible EMPTY COUNTRY. As per usual, we have recorded the full track with its long, yet beautifully strung-out intro. Unreal synth solos and e-piano pads in the final phase ;) More punky disco not disco with afro tinged horn loops and delirious rhythms throughout FUNKY SERENADE and trashy - madcap indie disco vibe to THE QUEEN OF MY TOWN with demented spoken word rap / skippy 'house' and bboy drum patterns. Bizarre sleeve artwork with similar sepia cum '70s Victoriana look as Sheba Plays Jungle Fever And Other Latin Soul Hits. Superb label art too. Rare Lp!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG++ condition overall with some faint hairlines and a few mini scuffs. Some surface noises but most probably due to the actual pressing. A few soft pops / ticks in places (as you can hear on our sounclip). A few audible swooshes to the fading finale of 'Francoise' from a pressing anomaly in a small section of the outro grooves, just before inner deadwax area. One side of label has a couple of waxy / glue type droplet stains (see photo). The laminated thin card sleeve is in strong VG++ condition with some light storage wear. Some laminate crease lines - indentations / light ring wear / ring dirt marks and minimal corner wear. Sharp looking item. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Lp!!!
