FRANK STARR
Aka ANDY STARR
He started off as Andy Starr and his first rockers were cut for Lin Records in Texas in 1955, then he moved to MGM back in 1956. By 1961 he was reinventing himself and he emerged with a new single for Holiday Inn Records under the new name Frank Starr.
This is the first of his two for the label and pairs up “Evil Eye” and “Knees Shakin.’ “ The topside is probably prompted by the pop culture fad in 1961 of “Evil Eye Tiki Idols that were being sold as novelties. This flipside is the same song that Don Terry had cut in 1958 for Lin Records.
