FRANK ZAPPA
“CHUNGA’S REVENGE”
(LA REVANCHA DE CHUNGA)
MEGARARE original REPRISE Records very first STEREO press released in 1975 in Chile by ASFONA Records, with orange Steamboat Reprise labels, catalog number MS2030, matrix numbers MS-2030-A EB-C in Side 1 and MS-2030-B EB-C in Side 2. In the deadwax of both sides is written the exact day of pressing: “19-III-75” (March 19 of 1975). Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! And WHAT A SUPERB CONDITION!!!
“CHUNGA’S REVENGE” was originally released in 1970 and it seems we had to wait a long time to see this great album released in Chile, because it was only released in 1975 here. In Chile this album was released as part of the Asfona Records collection called “SERIE ESPECIAL DE LUJO” (Deluxe Special Serie) with same artwork like original issue, with a flipback cover made of 2 single pieces of cardboard with front cover pasted in the flips. Front cover keeps the original artwork with title and the story of the vacuum cleaner written in English, with Reprise and Asfona logos at the upper right corner, “Frank Zappa” written with green colour and “Chunga’s Revenge” with white colour. In back cover, the tracklist and all credits are written in English only, the only difference with original issue is that below the tracklist is written “SERIE ESPECIAL DE LUJO”, in upper left corner is the logo “EL DISCO IS CULTURA” (The Record Is Culture) and at the bottom is written “Editado Y Distribuido por “ASFONA” M.R. Santiago De Chile – Fono 83877”. It’s interesting to see that in back cover the sides are identified as “Side One” and “Side Two” but in labels they are “A” and “B”, and in labels the title of the album is written in Spanish “LA REVANCHA DE CHUNGA”, translated to English. And “Reprise” logo, at right side of the steamboat, has a small “W” inside a square, that’s part of the copyrights of the album “Reprise Records A Warner Bros. Records U.S.A Recording”, written below the steamboat and above the album title. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from this side of the world!!!
The cover was already described and it’s in great VG or VG+ condition, clean, no ring marks, no blemishes, complete, but with some wear in the mouth and corners. The record is in superb VG+ or EX- condition both sides, glossy and clean, but with very light scratches and some hairlines and scuffs, hard to see which don’t affect sound. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, absolutely clean and clear, no marks, no writings at all. The sound is the best part, it’s great, it’s in VG+ or EX- condition the Side 1, loud, clear and clean, but with some pops in “Twenty Small Cigars”, and in EX+ or NM- condition the Side 2, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), only some very light crackles here and there, almost impossible to hear. Most of the songs play in NM condition!!! Overall a record with still a nice look and an amazing sound quality after 36 years.
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
