A beautiful and lavish edition of this 'FZ Audio Documentary', focussing on the making of Freak Out!, the classic 1966 debut album by The Mothers Of Invention.
This very limited edition box set contains three 150g red vinyl LPs, each housed in its own picture sleeve, along with a 12x12", 28 page, glossy, heavyweight booklet, and a full-size, fold-out reproduction of the rare 'Freak Out! Hot Spots' map, which was advertised only on initial pressings of the original album. The booklet contains extensive liner notes and dozens of archival photographs. The set is limited to 100 individually numbered copies, of which this is #46/100.
The production values are superb throughout. The box itself is constructed from thick white board, and designed as a four-way fold-out (see pictures), with each individual panel featuring a large colour sticker. The titles on the front and back of the box also consist of similar stickers, giving the packaging an overall similarity to the deluxe 4-CD edition of the MOFO Project/Object, which was housed in an elaborate white plastic fold-out.
The condition of the set is Brand New/Near Mint. I removed the plastic wrapper in order to photograph the contents, but all the discs are unplayed, and the booklet, poster, and box are pristine.
The entire set weighs in at just over 2 kilos, so I'm afraid postage costs will not be cheap. I live in France, and will ship this item to anywhere within the European Union for 12.50 (UK Pounds). Sorry, but this price applies to UK bidders as well. eBay's bizarre structure for calculating shipping costs doesn't allow me to officially charge more than four pounds for P&P to UK addresses, which is somewhat absurd! (Think about it: a two-kilo package, from France to the UK, for four pounds? It simply can't be done!)
Postal insurance is advisable, but will cost a little extra. If required, the winning bidder should contact me prior to sending payment, so that I can send an invoice with the total cost. I guarantee to charge only what the post office charges me - no more.
I am also very willing to ship this item to North America, Australia and Japan. Buyers from the US & Canada should expect shipping charges of around 20 UK pounds. Any others should contact me for a quote.
Please note that I can only accept payment via PayPal, and would appreciate it if the winning bidder could send payment within 48 hours of the auction's end. I will mail the item within 24 hours of receipt of payment, and supply the buyer with a Tracking Number (if they choose registered/insured shipping).
Rest assured, I will do my utmost ensure that this set reaches the winning bidder in perfect condition. I pride myself on packaging items well, as I know how frustrating it can be to receive damaged goods through the mail. The set will be wrapped in brown paper and a double layer of bubblewrap, thoroughly waterproofed, and packaged in thick card, with extra protection at the vulnerable corners.
The starting price is incredibly low, and there is No Reserve on this item.
