The Mothers of Invention / Freak Out - Verve Records V-5005-2 (1966)(US) …This auction is for an original Mono issue Double Record. One of the most ambitious debuts in rock history, "Freak Out!" was a seminal concept album that somehow foreshadowed both art rock and punk at the same time. Its four LP sides deconstruct rock conventions right and left, eventually pushing into territory inspired by avant-garde classical composers. The Records and Gatefold Cover (with "Freak-Out hot spots" map blurb on inside) are in fairly nice (Very Good to Very Good+) condition (cover is fairly clean/records show wear but plays through well).
