FRANK ZAPPA – UNCLE MEAT DOUBLE LP
VERY RARE FRENCH ISSUE
IN NEAR MINT CONDITION
This is the extremely rare 1969 France only release of Uncle Meat on Reprise (CRV 2009) which was manufactured in France by VOGUE.
I understand that not many copies of this LP were manufactured and sold in France (as the Mothers were not particularly popular in France in 1969) and so the few surplus copies that were produced were shipped over to the UK by HMV in London to meet demand – which is where I bought this one. This is the only 1969 French copy of Uncle Meat that I have ever seen.
It is in stereo and comes in a laminated gatefold sleeve which is in near MINT condition – only the spine shows any sign of wear and this is minimal. Spine indicates CRV 2009 and also has the BIZARRE logo alongside.
The cover differs from other versions in that it has a vogue logo in the bottom left corner and says “Deux Albums” underneath the “The MOI” logo in the top left corner.
The LPs are in near MINT condition having been played only a couple of times – it comes from my personal collection and has therefore been very well looked after.
The French release did not come with a booklet – or at least my copy didn’t and I bought it from new.
