GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : interessanti e personalissime composizioni che rivelano ancora una volta l'indole geniale di François de Roubaix. Il primo brano del disco con i ripetuti accordi delle tastiere sembra aver anticipato almeno parzialmente il ben noto tema dei Goblin in Profondo Rosso. L'atmosfera è cupa e trasuda misticismo con suoni diversi e ben mescolati. Poi, una dietro l'altra tre belle tracce jazz sfortunatamente di breve durata: "Jef et Valérie" con superbo pianoforte e basso in sottofondo, "Valérie" interamente caratterizzato da uno splendido assolo di Hammond e "Martey's" un jazz blues guidato dal sax con l'accompagnamento di pianoforte e basso. Dopo "Hotel Sandwich" un corto brano malinconico condotto dalla fisarmonica troviamo "Jeff et Jeanne", tema lento con un formidabile pianista. 

Notes : interesting and very personal compositions revealing once again the genial temperament of François de Roubaix. The first track with some repeated chords of the keyboards seems to have anticipated at least partially the well-known theme of Goblin in Deep Red aka Profondo Rosso. Its atmosphere is gloomy and exudes mysticism with well combined different sounds. Then, one after the other three great jazz tracks unfortunately short-lived: "Jef et Valérie" with superb piano and bass in the background, "Valérie" entirely characterized by a splendid Hammond solo and "Martey's" jazz blues led by sax with the accompaniment of piano and bass. After "Hotel Sandwich" a short melancholy tune mainly played by the accordion, "Jeff et Jeanne" slow theme with a well-gifted pianist.
