Description
Fred Cole of Portland Oregon was probably most famous as leader of Dead Moon, but he was involved in numerous other bands over the course of a busy and productive musical life. Known from the '60s as lead singer for the Weeds (garage) and Lollipop Shoppe (psychedelic), he went on in the 1980s to found a punk band called the Rats, and then Dead Moon (and Pierced Arrows).
King Bee was Fred Cole's main band in 1977 and 1978, and it represents his first exploration of punk rock (although it still sounds more like pub rock). This single is the only recorded artifact King Bee left behind. The fidelity is terrible; there's a ground buzz that's as loud as the music itself, so don't buy this thing and then try to return it because the sound is bad. The sound is bad on the entire production run. That's the way it is.
Final note: these last remaining King Bee 45s have never been played since they left the factory.
