FREDDIE HUBBARD “Goin’ Up” RVG, P, DG, LAM, Blue Note BLP 4056 Mono Vinyl
This is 1961, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of FREDDIE HUBBARD “Goin’ Up” on the “47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4056. Musicians Freddie Hubbard – trumpet, Hank Mobley - tenor saxophone, McCoy Tyner – piano, Paul Chambers – bass, Philly Joe Jones - drums.
VINYL plays with consistent low-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Surface noise most noticeable on Side 2, #2, a ballad. But ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Many hairline marks, a couple feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, spindle wear. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in very good shape. No peeling. Corners worn. Seams and spine nearly perfect. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows fading, many stains. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
